Q: Please give us a brief description of your previous role(s).
Before joining the Private Bank, I was with Wholesale Banking for 11 years where I held various leadership roles in Global Corporates and Transaction Banking. Previously, I was China Head of Multinational Corporates, Wholesale Banking.
Q: What made you join The Standard Chartered Private Bank?
I joined the Private Bank because I thought there would be so much I could learn in this role and also because it would help me to fulfill my career as a professional banker.
Q: What positive experiences have you had since joining the Private Bank?
The cross-border teamwork is great. We’ve seen a good flow of referrals among Relationship Managers. Most important, we’ve learnt a lot from the network about the private banking business, which is helpful as we are in a new market.
Q: What advice would you give to colleagues who are looking to change roles across functions/geographies?
Private banking is a unique combination of consumer banking, wholesale commercial banking and investment banking delivered with the highest levels of client service. You can learn a lot from the business and from the clients. It is a wonderful career because you can leverage what you learn at work to benefit your personal life.
Q: How do you see the future with The Standard Chartered Private Bank?
I’ll be proud to see The Standard Chartered Private Bank become one of the top three private banks in China, and I’m part of the team building up the business.
